~PROLOGUE~
In the year 2030 an emergency attempt was made to clean up the 2.5 million government and commercial satellites in low earth orbit. Member states of NATO agreed to launch 10 "EMP bombs" in a precise sequential order.The launch pattern was chosen so that the disable satellites would fall harmlessly into the ocean or be flung into outer space by the moon's gravity.

The plan was set into action on April 15,2030 with a NASA space rocket containing the 1st EMP device.When the EMP device reached the correct altitude and position over earth it was activated.The device was believed to have destroyed 450,000 satellites,however the power of the fallowing devices where underestimated.The resulting blasts from the other EMP's nearly sent the earth into a total blackout destroying most electronic devices including the self guidance and computer systems in most cars rendering them useless,many had to resort to using antiquated vehicles mostly from the 1970's and older.

Many of the 450,000 plus satellites landed in the northern half of the pacific ocean,even more where caught by the moons gravity and thrown into outer space.Of those that crashed to earth about 100 landed in major coastal cities and of those 100 a single shielded,reinforced "satellite" labeled "XXX-XX-XX02" crashed somewhere in California.Contained in S-7X-02 (as it became know in the media) was a vile of an mysterious substance that would later be discover "make ones brain stop working".

This "condition" spread quickly and soon was classified as a pandemic,Taking olny a month to spread over the waster halves of the United States and Canada.As panic grew both powers begin working on a vaccine.Just one week after the "western infection" citizens where being treated and vaccinated.Time would olny tell if the results would be positive.Just two days after the final vaccination came unbelievable news..."many of the vaccinated where still becoming infected and expiring",news also came in saying the infection had been documented in Europe and Australia.

Just one short year later the infection had a helpless globe in it's ever stronger grasp.However there appeared to be a strange trend forming among certain individuals as stated by the "United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps" on December 15,2031 6:00pm.

"As our attempts in understanding this "Virus" raises more questions than answers we where able to gather some intrusting yet disturbing data.It appears that the past vaccines where ineffective due the strange makeup of the "Virus" not rapid a evolution as previously thought.

There also seems to be a trend forming,Gathering data from a simple censuses given at vaccination depots indicates individuals with a specific learning disability known as "Dyslexia" show no symptoms of the "infection".As of right now this is unconfirmed and we are asking these individuals and the healthy to refrain from breaking safety or quarantine protocols."

This news outrage many people,most thought of this as a cruel joke but olny time would prove if this was true.

Time did progress...

By the end of 2032 modern governments where a thing of the past,people started forming colonies in order to survive.On march 17,2033 the colonies in the United Sates officially formed the "Regional Allies of the United States"this neogoverment divided the US into three areas Western,Mid and Eastern.Each region elected two official representatives.These 6 representatives acted as a council.The RAUS formation made travel safer for good traders who in addition to supporting a vital barter system where often used as cargo stransports.There was still risk of attacks from Deserters a very dangerous group of seceded colonists and nomadic drifters.Deserters often resort to violent and illegal acts to obtain their supplies.They are often noted having the "infection".To combat this risk the RAUS council commission a police force of 2000 officers per region,It was agreed that the police cars would be painted red with a white star and the word "Police" adjacent to it.This plan worked but a major flaw arose often the cars are needed as soon as repairs are complete this often results in incomplete paint and body work.
